Twice replaced Harddrive still crashes.

My 15" macbook is still crashing after having the harddrive replaced twice. Interestingly, the crash is identical to the type of crash before it was replaced. Everything would be working fine then the screen goes black and a white screen appears with small font saying the computer encountered a problem and is rebooting. After everything reloads a window pops up titled "Problem report for OS X" saying my computer restarted because of a problem with a huge list details of the problem details and system configuration (which I can paste below if anyone can help me solve this problem). It is noteworthy that sometimes the fan will be running abnormally loud at times. It will sometimes coincide with the crash and sometimes not. There hasn't been any decipherable pattern in that regards. My DVD drive is also currently not working. I've run disk utilities multiple times in every scenario possible to no avail and have run out of ideas.

Here are a list of possible scenarios I thought of, but would love feedback and help with any new suggestions or help.

(not in any intentional order of importance or probability)

1. There's a virus.

2. The DVD drive is somehow causing the hard drive to crash.

3. An incompatible program from previous OS is causing system to crash (unlikely because the crash happened before I upgraded OS and continued afterwards)

3. Apple simply wants me to buy a new machine

Mac details:

El Capitan

Macbook Pro Mid 2010

Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 6 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

HD: 1 TB SATA Disk

Thank you for your help in advance!

You said "a huge list details of the problem details and system configuration (which I can paste below if anyone can help me solve this problem). "

Yes post it.

You may have this problem

Please do so. Read OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Supp…

Also: Mac OS X: How to log a kernel panic - Apple Support.

Excerpted from that document:

If you record a kernel panic, you can post this information to Apple Discussions. Please include detailed hardware configuration information in your post. You may do this by copying and pasting information from a System Profiler report into your post. Please also include any reproducible steps that lead to this message.

If you would like to do that, copy and paste the entire text of the Kernel Panic report. Since this is a publicly accessible website, please omit or obscure any information you consider personal.

1. There's a virus.

  1. Please forget about that.
  2. If the kernel panics are due to hardware fault, the two problems are likely to be related to that common fault. Your KP report might indicate something suggesting a fault, or it might not. The DVD drive itself is not likely to cause that problem.
  3. Possible. The kernel panic report might reveal something of interest. Kernel panics are almost always caused by hardware, but it might be something you can fix.
  4. Sure! 😉 Apple does not cause the problems you're describing to impose a periodic requirement to purchase new hardware though. It would also violate US laws that have been in effect for decades.

Please note also that the reports have varied slightly in the first few lines (At least once that I know of for sure). I had one that referenced SnapX Pro in the first few lines. I deleted the program and every related file I could find regarding it hoping that was the issue but my computer still crashed. I don't know if that information is pertinent at all but I wanted to mention it if it would help.

This " "GPU Panic: [<None>] 3 3 7f 0 0 0 0 3 : NVRM[0/1:0:0]: "

indicates you have the graphics problem indicated in the last link I provided. Since the repair program has ended the solution is to replace the logic board since the GPU is not replaceable.

Only worth it if you can find the a goog, same model MacBook Pro that has been repaired for the graphics problem that has a screen problem
